Sarah’s Yoga practice began in Grass Valley in 2002, where she was born. She fell in love as she found local teachers that taught her mind opening concepts, and physically rejuvenating practices. Sierra College provided her first teachers, and Yoga became a major highlight in her AA Liberal Arts degree. Her practice continued and flourished as a safe haven during early motherhood and a regular peaceful retreat of slowing down. As her path unfolded, in July of 2011, she made her way to Mount Madonna, in Watsonville, Ca. and immersed herself in a 200+ hour Yoga Teacher Training with Baba Hari Dass, and his many students of 40+ years. There she received a solid and clear foundation in the roots of Yoga, and a real connection to new and familiar practices.
The Ashtanga, Tantra and Hatha paths are the main influences in her work as a yoga student and teacher. These paths explore the deep roots and eight limbs of Classical Yoga. The most recent developments to her practice include exploring Acro-Yoga and she is truly enjoying the challenges. Trauma Informed Yoga training was recently offered at Yoga Well, and she is delighted to add these skills to her teachings. All Yoga is designed to bring humans back into a oneness in spirit, in individual lives, and in the lives of the greater community. All practices bring community together. Every practice affects every practice. Sarah teaches to learn better yoga, and to invite others into a sacred union with their peaceful, self healing abilities.
Sarah enjoys teaching adults and kids, group and private sessions, and workshops in asana, pranayama, hand mudras, and meditation. She also enjoys teaching beginning Ballet for adults and co-leads the Nevada County Dance Collective. She offer hands on healing and Reiki sessions at Yoga Well’s healing room. Sarah also teaches high school yoga students at a local charter school and loves serving her community with a healthy dose of self care through yoga.
